Adam – charismatic, Celtic, kilted* – spends much of his time endeavouring to live up to his countryman J. M. Barrie’s famous remark: “There are few more impressive sights in the world than a Scotsman on the make.” Mega wattage-talented, he’s a national journalist, author, star guide, star dad, cartoonist and guitar strummer & chansonnier for hire.
Anything else? Yes, he’s the only person I know who talks like a well-written magazine article. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if the key to that is where he’s from: that heart-achingly beautiful landscape has got into his mind, into his turn of phrase. That all? No, there’s this: he regularly sets off on all-day, 30-mile walks across London – walking the Circle Line, that kind of thing. This is some kind of man. A guy you’re gonna be real glad you got to know, spent some time with. Check out this video of his Rock ‘n’ Roll London Pub Walk. And for good measure this one of Adam guiding the Somewhere Else London Walk. But don’t just take it from us. Here’s what one of our leading music writers, Lesley Ann Jones (biographer of John Lennon and Freddie Mercury), says about Adam: “You are one of the rare few who respects history and truth. I’d never hesitate to recommend you as a tour guide.”
