It’s Christmastime…. The Story of Live Aid.
From a terraced house in Chelsea to the world via Wembley & Philadelphia, Adam will be taking us through the story of Live Aid in its 40th anniversary year.
Along the way we’ll also look at the 18th century origins of musical fund-raising, take in the controversy surrounding the lack of Black artists and women on the first Band Aid record, discuss the politics of the period and the mechanics of staging not one but two enormous gigs on one day. We’ll look at both the British AND the American records, how they were written and made and we’ll find out if legendary producer Quincy Jones’s plea for all the artists to “Check Your Egos At the Door” was successful…
