London Walks guide Adam knows exactly how special a musical pilgrimage can be to a music fan. He is not only an expert tour guide (Visit England Tourism Superstar finalist 2022) and a tour guiding tutor… he’s also an experienced Music Tourist. From Liverpool, Coventry & Glasgow to Memphis, Nashville & New Orleans, his explorations have taken him to musical cities, towns, streets, houses, museums, studios and music-themed guided tours all across the globe.

Adam is passionately dedicated to providing the best possible experience for his guests – with smaller groups, more time to enjoy the tour and a great price*.

(*An equivalent tour in New York City can cost up to £20 more)

We will use the London Underground to cover as many London Beatle sites as possible – you will need an Oyster card or Bank card to pay for your Tube journeys

A 3 hour window has been allocated to complete each of these tours ensuring that there’s no rush to cover all the sites & sounds. The extra hour has been added to allow for travelling time on the Tube and any time we may need to take pictures… we may not need to use the extra hour but it ensures that we can just generally take everything at an easy pace.

Limiting the group numbers and extending the tour time results in…

  • Plenty of time to take those treasured pictures of the truly iconic locations.
  • More space for an intimate atmosphere – more like the front row at The Cavern Club than way up high in the bleachers at Shea Stadium!
  • Lots of opportunities to ask questions and, if you choose to do so, share your own musical memories.

The Tour:

Beatles Greatest Hits Vol I: Beatlemania! 1961-1965 (The Red Tour)

Meet At Embankment Tube (Villiers Street Exit)

Visits Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly, Soho, Seven Dials, Denmark Street and West Hampstead…

In 1961 John, Paul, George and Pete arrived in chilly London Town… in ‘62 Ringo’s destiny calls… in 1963 the Queen Mother loves them yeah, yeah, yeah… and in 1964 movie stardom beckons. By 1965 L.S.D is on the scene. Auditions failed, auditions passed, Brian Epstein, George Martin, Dick James, movie premieres and book launches with cameos from Princess Margaret, Marlene Dietrich, John Profumo and The Rolling Stones.

  1. Jeanette

We had gone to Liverpool this same trip, since my friend is a huge Beatles fan. I was not as familiar with the history of the Beatles. Adam did a superb job of explaining events and linking them to places in London that we visited. I highly recommend this tour as well as his volume 2 tour. Both are excellent!

  2. Pete

I thoroughly enjoyed this well-planned tour. Adam is a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging tour guide. At each site, he provided relevant and insightful commentary in context so that we could fully appreciate each landmark. Highly recommended.

  3. Dale Hayden

If you are looking for a fantastic tour with an expert guide look no further. Adam is so well informed and personable that we booked this walk as soon as it came available. Beatles fans and those just interested in the early 1960s in London will not be disappointed.

  4. Fulvio

Adam Scott is the most engaging, informed and humorous guide we have had the pleasure to engage with. He made a series of landmarks come to life with witty tales of their Beatles connection, despite many of the buildings having changed both identity and usage over the intervening 60 years. An entertaining recollection of the Beatles origin story, we wish we had time for the second part.

  5. Laura Hayden

We’re so happy to take the inaugural tour but honestly, it was so well-presented and absolutely interesting, you’d think this had been polished like a jewel. Adam is, hands down the best guide we’ve had the pleasure to tour with. He’s enthusiastically informed, friendly, accommodating, organized, and is the sort of expert in his field that makes you want to hang onto every word. I enjoyed myself immensely.
