Short read: This is the most haunted city on earth.

Long read: Unutterably old, built over a fen of undisclosed horrors, believed to contain occult lines of geometry. A city where the very mist is like a sigh from a graveyard. Now I don’t want to weird you out, but where we’re going tonight time past and time present can fuse… especially when the daylight bleeds away. If in a dark window you see an even darker silhouette staring back, or if the branches of a tree suddenly shiver like a spider’s web that’s caught something, or if you follow a stranger into a graveyard or a pub where everything isn’t as it seems… you could well be wayfaring to the rebecks of eternity. Fancy a pint? Guided by actors Richard III and Captain Spooky aka Peter.

Ghosts, Gaslight & Guinness takes place at 7.30 pm every Wednesday evening in the Summer programme (which runs from May 1 – October 31).

It will also take place – at 7.15 pm – on Saturday, October 31 (Natch! Because it’s Halloween!).

During this winter’s programme – 1 November 2019 – 30 April 2020 – the G, G  & G walk has decided to hibernate.

The meeting point is just outside the main exit of Holborn Tube.  N.B. the Ghosts, Gaslight & Guinness Walk ends in Covent Garden, very near Covent GardenTube Stop.

The video of the Ghosts, Gaslight & Guinness walk is still in the pipeline. But you can get an idea of the calibre of the guiding by looking at this video of Captain Spooky aka Peter guiding his West End Ghost Walk and this one of Richard III guiding his Mayfair Walk.

“Without a doubt the best walking tour company currently operating in London”  Stardust

“London Walks has many copycats, but it’s the best” Frommer’s London by Night

“The original and best – there are several companies offering walking tours of London but London Walks (London’s oldest) is easily the pick of the bunch” London, Cadogan Guide

If you can’t make one of the regularly scheduled, just-turn-up, public Ghosts, Gaslight & Guinness walks do think about booking one as a private tour. If you go private you can have the Ghosts, Gaslight & Guinness Walk – or any other London Walk – on a day and at a time that suits your convenience. We’ll tailor it to your requirements. Ring Fiona or Noel or Mary on 020 7624 3978 or email us at and we’ll set it up and make it happen for you. A private London Walk – they’re good value for an individual or couple and sensational value for a group – makes an ideal group or educational or birthday party or office (team-building) or club outing.

A private London Walk makes a very special, thoughtful, unusual gift. Be it a birthday or anniversary or graduation or Christmas present or whatever. Merchandise schmerchandise (gift wrapped or not) – but giving someone an experience, now that’s special. Memories make us rich.
