A 5* rated live, outdoor, 3-D, shoe-leather-on-pavement London Walk.

Our route: the Tower of London (Traitors’ Gate) to the Mansion House.

Mansion House, part of our Revolting London Walking Tour

Our dramatis personae: 20 centuries of them. They range from Boudicca (Boadacea) who put London to the torch 2000 years ago (the first Great Fire of London) to the Extinction Rebellion demonstrators who recently (2019) “torched” the Chancellor’s Mansion House speech.

Tower of London, part of our Revolting London Walking Tour

Enroute: we meet three Tudor Queens beheaded in the Tower, Irish bombers, theArchbishop of Canterbury lynched by Revolting Peasants, the slave trader who switched sides, the Scottish nobleman who laughed his head off (literally laughed it off).

The George and Vulture Pub, part of our Revolting London Walking Tour
In sum: that’s just a sprinkling of said encounters. Two hours on we’ll have met any number of extraordinary characters whose lives and deaths are etched on, above and beneath the streets and alleys of London.

And as long as we’re at it, here’s a visual of our meeting point just outside the exit of Tower Hill  Tube.

David led a brilliant tour, from the moment he opened his mouth he told the stories of kings, queens, and others who made their arguably best attempt to revolt. I will definitely do another tour with London Walks.

  2. Joy

Ulrike was a fantastic guide-extremely knowledgeable, fun, interesting & well worth doing this walk to discover things you didn’t know about London.

  3. Brigitte Timmermann

Ulrike packed 2000 years of London history into a most enjoyable and entertaining off-the-beaten track tour of two hours. Wasn’t aware the City had so many interesting nooks and crannies I would never have discovered myself.

  4. Jan Kennaugh & Chip Horne

Very enjoyable and informative tour! Money and time well spent!

  5. Carole

Have been on a good number of tours and this one ranks among the best. David knows his history and presents it well with enthusiasm and humour. Highly recommended!

I almost always go on one or two London Walks when I’m in London. They are always good, but I have to say that David’s walk was outstanding. It was so INTERESTING with details and anecdotes spanning the Roman period to the modern era. Thanks, David!

“Revolting London” – An excellent way to review your history of Britain, in a fun but most reliably documented way ! Such a good show of how the City of London does accomodate the very ancient and the very modern.

2000 years of rebellion & revolts. Ian escorted us on a 2 hour tour around the city that took in Romans, Tudors, re-burials, peasant revolts, executions & even Abraham Lincoln. In addition we visited lovely places, that even as a Londoner were new to me, market places, hidden temples & city walls. Ian even arranged the weather. Don’t hold back, give it a go, Ian is a great guide, very knowledgeable, humourous & fun to be with.

I had a fantastic time exploring London with Ian Falgeson as our guide. The tour was incredibly insightful, rich with historical detail, and delivered in such an engaging and enlightening way. Ian’s knowledge of the city’s history is impressive, and he brings each landmark to life with fascinating stories and context. Highly recommend for anyone looking to see London through a deeper, more informed lens!

We learned lots of entertaining and interesting behind-the-scenes stories from this tour. It was a great way to be introduced to the old City. We really enjoyed experiencing the medieval pathways amidst the towering skyscrapers. David was a captivating guide. We would tour with him again. Definitely recommend!
