What’s not to like? Grand Tour. Stunning overview. St. Paul’s to the Tower of London. Can’t do better than that for a jumping-off point and a final destination. But – whisper it – the getting there is the real fun, because along the way we explore twisty little alleyways and piquant nooks and crannies and a secret stretch of shoreline.

Seeing this London is like hearing music you never would have known to listen for. N.B. the walk ends at the Tower of London, right next to Tower Hill Tube.

The Old London Walk takes place at 2.15 pm every* Wednesday. The meeting point is just outside exit 2 of St. Paul’s Tube. The walk is guided by Fiona, Russell, Ann or Simon W. N.B. the walk ends near the Tower of London and Tower Hill Tube. *Except Dec. 25

“If you want to know London better, if you want to learn some things about the world’s most cosmopolitan city that most people who spend their lives there never learn… I can think of no better investment than London Walks” The New York Times
“London’s best walking tours” Travel & Leisure
“Even jaded Londoners find these London Walks a source of astonishing gems of information about the city in which they live.” Daily Mail, Top London Treats

If you can’t make the regularly scheduled, just-turn-up, public Old London walk do think about booking one as a private tour. If you go private you can have Old London – or any other London Walk – on a day and at a time that suits your convenience. We’ll tailor it to your requirements. And – always – we go to great lengths to make sure the guide-walker(s) “fit” is well-nigh perfect. Ring Fiona or Peter or Niamh or Mary on 020 7624 3978 or email us at [email protected] and we’ll set it up and make it happen for you. A private London Walk is good value for an individual or couple and sensational value for a group. And the clincher: a private London Walk makes an ideal group or educational or birthday party or office (team-building) or club outing.

A private London Walk makes a very special, indeed, unique gift – be it a birthday or anniversary or Christmas present or whatever. Merchandise schmerchandise (gift wrapped or not) – but giving someone an experience, now that’s special. Memories make us rich.

Our guide Catherine, made the streets of Old London come alive with fascinating insights into the lives of the early inhabitants of London and the historical events which transpired. I would encourage anyone to join this tour.

Catherine knew her material, managed the various personalities which could have been challenging. We all felt heard, our questions were answered and she skill fully continued with information relating to the questions and the next tour stop. Top tour

Thanks to Catherine for her very informative tour around Old London Town

I did this walk yesterday with a small group and Catherine, our guide. It was an excellent walk and Catherine is so knowledgeable about the Old London. We walked along several small lanes or hithes which I had no idea even existed in the modern city. Our group all interacted well contributing various snippets of information that we had about it too. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, especially the Queenhithe Mosaic. Thankyou Catherine, you bring history to life and make it so interesting,

I did this walk guided by Catherine (on 11/06/25) who proved to be a font of knowledge, pointing out lots of hidden gems and telling interesting stories along the route thru what is now a hugely redeveloped Cheapside.
As a born within the sound of Bow Bells cockney Londoner I hadn’t realised how much history it was still possible to discover, if you were only pointed in the right direction. Thanks Catherine, I’ll be back for the Fire of London walk soon!
Jennifer Saggers –
I thoroughly enjoyed the Old London walk with Simon 4 June. Simon is so knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining, delivering extremely interesting tidbits of information and stories along the way. He checks in with his audience – of all ages and backgrounds – for understanding, answering questions and keeping the group moving and safe. A terrific experience!

May 28 tour. Thoroughly enjoyed the Old London walk with Ann. The pace of the walk was just right and we gained a lot of new information about this section of London. Ann is very knowledgable and has a very pleasant voice.

Our walk through The City with Ann yesterday was like being with a teacher who loves her job. Her clear speech, enthusiasm and humour made it easy to absorb a lot of detailed information and the walk was interesting and memorable for the entire time.
