Catherine

Oxford historian. Great Fire expert. Catherine makes 1666 blaze.

Her award-nominated novel The White Phoenix is set during the inferno of 1666, and she leads the Great Fire walk with the authority of someone who has lived and breathed 1666 for years.

She has written it, researched it, and performed it — bringing Stuart London vividly to life for audiences young and old. The smoke. The panic. The personalities. All immediate. All real.

Her latest novel, The Great Bear Breakout, was inspired by extraordinary real events at a Victorian zoo — uncovered while researching her south London roots, including a Walworth Road cheesemonger ancestor.

A playwright and former guide at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Catherine combines scholarship with stage presence.

With Catherine, the past doesn’t fade. It returns in full colour.
