All the delights and delicacies of a London Victorian Christmas with Charles Dickens‘s famous story A Christmas Carol as your route map and inspiration.

We’ll deck the streets of London with balls of jolly. Scrooge and Marley and the Cratchits… they’re all here. This was where Dickens’s imagination took wing and where the characters did their thing. And as we make their acquaintance we’ll spice things with warming seasonal stories of turkeys and boars’ heads, Christmas puds, mince pies and pantomimes; cards, crackers, Christmas trees and mistletoe.

Let alone the bells that rang out on Christmas morning to wake Scrooge up, a much-changed character.

CHARLES DICKENS’ CHRISTMAS CAROL & SEASONAL TRADITIONS – THE PRACTICALS

N.B. the walk takes about two hours and ends across the street from St. Paul’s Cathedral and St. Paul’s Tube Stop.

  1. Nadeem Khan

Attended on 23rd Dec. We were met by, no less than, Mr Charles Dickens himself (Simon W).

Excellent, enchanting, inspiring…wholly in keeping with the spirit of the story and Dickens himself. Wonderful choice of passages quoted.

Having probably attended 25+ walks over recent years, would have to say this is one of the very best (in my opinion).

    Bravo ‘Simon W’!

  2. Lynn Smiledge

Richard the third really brought the story of Christmas carol to life
It was also a bonus to see the Samuel Pepys bust and symbols linked to his life
Richard paced the walk very well ,both in his narration and also in the walking allowing all abilities to keep pace .
Richard kept everyone’s interest he also ensured that everyone was safe reiterating caution with crossing the road
Thanks once again for a fabulous London walk

  5. SUE HOWARD

Friday 26 December 2025 – ‘A Christmas Carol ‘ by Charles Dickens, tour guide: Richard 3rd.
Another brilliantly interesting London Walk with Richard 3rd! Received a great, improved understanding of Dickens’s background and choice of novels. Loved the London streets of Scrooge, the meaning of Cheapside, ‘Boxing Day’ crates, Tom Smith the cracker-man, and so much more, plus the wonderful mellifluous voice of Richard! This has to be about the 40th London Walk!! They are the BEST!!

  6. Elizabeth Sauboorah

  7. Dom Sauboorah

  8. Sam

Insightful, engaging and entertaining, the tour is well worth it — whatever the weather. Tour guide Simon is enough to get even Mr Scrooge into the Christmas spirit!

  9. Claire Dunlop

We joined Richard III on his wonderful Charles Dickens Christmas Carol walking tour and can thoroughly recommend both tour and guide. It was entertaining, informative and well-paced. If you want a couple of hours of relaxed and interesting activity in London, give this a go. Also, I should say it is incredibly good value! Thanks Richard III
