David P.

We’ll see your (History’s) Dick Whittington (Lord Mayor of London in the early 1400s) and raise you our own. David P. is Mayor of his own central London Borough, Islington. When he’s not wearing his ceremonial robes, he loves creating narratives about his adopted city, London, a skill he learnt working as an award-winning Producer in British television for over 20 years. He’s the former President of the London Royal Television Society and spent many years using his communication skills working for the European Union in Brussels and Strasbourg. For good measure, his Dickens Walk comes trailing clouds of glory: it gets nothing but rave reviews. And if you’re looking for a rarity, David P.’s repertory includes walks on Brexit; on Bizarre London and the US humorist Tom Lehrer (in David’s words, “it kicks off among the pigeons in the Park where we sing ‘Poisoning Pigeons in the Park’ and then to a pub and then to the Royal Society of Chemistry where we all sing ’The Elements’”); and a night-time Dickens Walk. All of them available by special request.  And – this almost goes without saying – David P.’s twice been to tea at Buckingham Palace.
