On March 4, 1966 the London Evening Standard published an interview with John Lennon in which the Beatle claimed that the Beatles were “more popular than Jesus.” The interview caused a big fuss on the other side of the Atlantic, especially in the Bible Belt. That interview – and the fuss it caused – is the subject of this Today in London History podcast.
