What did the Romans ever do for us?  Well, they gave us London (they called it Londinium, but what’s in a name?).  Roman London is all around us, or beneath our feet, but we need to know where to look.  Our tour will take us through four hundred years of London’s Roman history featuring the Roman forum hidden beneath one of the City’s most beautiful marketplaces, an ancient temple, the wall that used to surround the City and the vast amphitheatre to which thousands flocked to watch gladiatorial combat and other “entertainments”.

We will also meet a couple of rebels who tried to declare independence from Rome as well as the young Roman girl who lies buried at the foot of one of London’s most iconic skyscrapers.
