“The champagne and caviar of London Walks.” The best address in London and a bon vivant of a guide. A patrician promenade through the parallelogram of purses. Pip pipping where Old Masters and old money, Rollers and Rolexes are par for the course. A boulevardier and a bailiwick of butlers, titles and glamour. Hob-nobbing with knobs on it – because Mayfair’s been home to Clive of India, Disraeli, Handel, Florence Nightingale, Jimi Hendrix, Dodi Fayed and the Earl Mountbatten, to name but a few. Last but certainly not least, Mayfair boasts London’s best village within a village – Shepherd Market, a charming little nest of lanes and alleyways that hasn’t lost a jot of its 18th-century scale and village atmosphere, let alone its raffishness. Guided by Peter or Richard III or Claire or Oliver.
OLD MAYFAIR – THE PRACTICALS
Old Mayfair takes place everyTuesday and Thursday at 10.45 am in the Summer and on Thursdays in the Winter

APRÈS WALK – HERE ARE SOME LONDON WALKS RECOMMENDATIONS
If you can’t make one of the regularly scheduled, just-turn-up, Old Mayfair it can always be booked as a private tour. If you go private you can have the Old Mayfair walk – or any other London Walk – on a day and at a time that suits your convenience. We’ll tailor it to your requirements. Ring Fiona or Mary on 020 7624 3978 or email us at [email protected] and we’ll set it up and make it happen for you. A private London Walk – they’re good value for an individual or couple and sensational value for a group – makes an ideal group or educational or birthday party or office (team-building) or club outing.
GIVE THE GIFT OF LONDON WALKS
A private London Walk makes a fab gift – be it a birthday or anniversary or Christmas present or whatever. Merchandise schmerchandise (gift wrapped or not) – but giving someone an experience, now that’s special. Memories make us rich.

Another fantastic walk with London Walks. Peter was at his best in his own indomitable style. As always very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to.

We thoroughly enjoyed being guided through Mayfair by Richard III. He took us on a knowledgeable and witty tour around those beautiful historic London streets, the two hours going by so quickly. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

Peter did an excellent job with our group and provided an intelligent soundtrack to all the varied histories of this storied part of London. You’ll get the fancy bits but also the scandals and hidden nooks of this beautiful city neighborhood.

Myself and three old schoolfriends joined this walk with Claire on 29th November and it was a really good experience. Anecdotes, historical references and good humour from Claire made the walk very informative and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Just a line to say what a thoroughly enjoyable London Walk the Old Marylebone Walk was today, Saturday 19th March 2022.
Peter was a great host; entertaining, factual, fun, full of little gems, gossips, facts, delivered in an easy style; ready to answer questions (and set a few himself).
This was my first walk with London Walks but I have purchased the discount card and booked for Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday this forthcoming week!
Having just returned to London in my retirement, it is a delightful way to reacquaint myself with a city that I have visited and worked in but not got to know in-depth.
I look forward to London Walks helping me to achieve further enjoyment from our fabulous capital!

Claire provided a fascinating and entertaining tour of hidden history of Old Mayfair which included links to President Kennedy, Charles Saatchi, Dodi Fayad and Lord Lucan among others. We saw a world class modern representation of the ancient painting The Last Supper in a local church, I think better than the original and which I would never have seen otherwise. Time in London well spent!
