Combining highlights of our “Old Jewish Quarter” and “Jewish London” walks, this “Single Tour Special”* has been curated by Ian for those who want to unlock the full thousand-year history of London’s Jewish Communities from the medieval to the twentieth century in 2 hours.

We will take a journey through space and time from the Tower of London to Liverpool Street Station taking in London’s three historic Jewish quarters.

On our way, we will encounter the Jews of medieval London (1066-1290),  the  Spanish and Portuguese (Sephardi) Jews who settled here in the 17th Century and the Ashkenazi  Jews who made their homes in the East End in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.

Our tour ends with the arrival of the Kindertransport children in 1938/9.

N.B. Guide Ian donates his fee to the World Jewish Relief’s Ukraine and Turkey/Syria earthquake Crises appeals!

*A “Special” created to welcome the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies conference…
