The Theatreland Pub Walk – Thesp Guided!

Leicester Square underground station, London (exit 1, by Wyndham's Theatre)

Guided by Simon W.

Short description: Theatreland + Pubs

Long description: Theatreland plus attitude adjustment (pubs), gotta love it. “Theatres are curious places, magician's trick-boxes where the golden memories of dramtic triumphs linger like nostalgic ghosts, and where the unexplainable, the fantastic, the tragic, the comic and the absurd are routine occurences on and off the stage. Murders, mayhem, politcal intrigue, lucrative business, secret assignations, and of course, dinner.” This one's guided by the one and only Simon W. An actor (and award-winning guide), here's what he said, eyes all aglow, when the subject of a Simon W.-guided Theatreland walk was mooted: "all those theatres, what's not to like?"
All those theatres plus Theatreland plus pubs plus Simon W., what's not to like? But let's hear it from a walker, Kyle Maury, a university student, from Long Beach, California wrote to us on May 9, 2016. This is what Kyle says. "I did five London Walks Tours during my semester in London and loved every single one! …my third, fourth, and fifth tours were with Simon. Simon guided the Ghost Tour, Jack the Ripper, and Tower of London Tours. Simon has a great personality and brings a lot of energy to his tours. He loves to interact with his group by asking questions and lets you engage with him along the way. Simon also has a theatrical flair which is highly entertaining. Simon is also extremely knowledgable, which you can tell from the three different tours I had with him, which covered a lot of different history.".

The Theatreland Pub Walk takes place at 7.15 pm on Saturday, TBA. The meeting point is just outside exit 4 (in Cranbourne Street) of Leicester Square Tube.

"Although the big companies tend to just shuttle vast hordes of people about, one tour company does give you an in-depth, personalized insight  to the city, offering a dizzying array of themed tours conducted by very qualified guides. The theatre tours, for example, are led by actors and  actresses from the London  stage, while the historical walks are done by historians, not just some bloke who's read a couple of books."  London

It all comes down to the guiding If you're not assessing you're guessing – buying a pig in a poke.
