London Walks at its best
Secret London. Hidden London. Off the beaten track London. “I never knew this was here” London. Well, I never London.
And “the best tour guide you could want.”
MEET “THE BEST TOUR GUIDE YOU COULD WANT”
Here’s Sam talking about his gem of a new walk
Pineapples, pelicans, maidens, leopards, griffins and more…
And their significance, their meaning.
As we walk we uncover the hidden stories of the buildings and monuments. We see St Pauls, Temple Bar, Guildhall, Royal Exchange, Bank of England and Mansion House.
And we talk about the history of the city from the Romans up to today.

Sam clearly loves his subject and his tour was really enjoyable! He seamlessly covered historical fact and quirky tales about the City and its characters. There was something for everyone, with stops at buildings, backstreets, statues and wall plaques that you might not otherwise notice, and plenty of dinky and tucked away green spaces to sooth the soul! His delivery is warm and engaging and he actively invites participation. I hope he adds a ‘Part II’ version!

A fantastically enjoyable and interesting walk.It was full of fascinating facts and historical details, and we particularly loved the hidden gardens. Sam is a great guide – he clearly knows his stuff in depth, but was very encouraging of additional information from other people and questions along the way. It was full of fascinating facts and historical details, and we particularly loved the hidden gardens. Two hours went by very quickly, I think we could all have listened to Sam all day!

Excellent tour. We all agreed on how little we knew about our City despite living here for over 60 years. Sam was a great guide

A fantastic walk which my friend Sarah and I thorougly enjoyed. Sam is friendly, engaging, humorous and extremely informative. Also, unlike some other guides, he doesn’t mind when others add their comments to his. He was also happy to answer any questions we had. I would heartily recommend this walk. Good job, Sam!

A great walk and so informative about the City of London. From Romans to Guilds and much more besides. Sam kept it all together and we would recommend this walk if you have done the regular ones and would like something “off the beaten track “ to see places you would not otherwise notice.

The rain did nothing to dampen Sam’s enthusiasm for the fascinating history of the City of London. His knowledge is deep and his techniques for engaging the group first rate. For example, when he discussed the various guilds, one of our members was able to add insights from his years as a guild member. This was such a good tour, I think we were all disappointed that it came to an end -despite the weather!

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour even though the weather was wet, windy & cold. Saw many interesting places we wouldn’t have found on our own. Sam was very knowledgeable and welcomed additional input from some of the others on the walk.
Alex –
Sam was a brilliant guide, dispite the rain and wind he made sure we saw as much as possible and showed us loads that we wouldn’t have notice without him!

Sam was an excellent tour guide. We visited churches, buildings new and old, and all along the way he pointed out interesting things I would have never noticed. There where so many stories he told us associated with everything we saw. I highly recommend.
