Luisa’s curiosity aka nosiness, means she loves digging to find the best stories. Maybe it’s her years as a doctor – looking for the right diagnosis, or working as health editor at The Guardian – where for 20 years she wrote columns on health, relationships and motherhood but it’s answering the who, what, when, where and whys that are her holy grail of guiding.
Her stories and commentaries are always in demand. As attested to by her three books, her years as a radio and television health pundit, and her portfolio of pieces in Vogue, Elle and Cosmopolitan.
Named after a Verdi opera she loves aubergine parmigiana but couldn’t be more English. Like Charles Dickens she was born in Portsmouth; like Charles Dickens she came to London and lit the place up. Has never stopped doing so.
Super mum.
Top flight professionally qualified Westminster guide. In that miracle of miracles – her spare time – she can’t get enough of walking round the greatest city in the world.
Life force. Vivacious, Full of vim and vigor. Friendly. Sociable (the cornerstone of being a fully realised human being). Gets to know her walkers. Gets their story. Makes sure they have a good time.
Having a medical degree and a first in English Literature she leans to the artsy but as a surgeon (the only woman to pass her Royal College of Surgeons exam on the day she took it) she remembers enough anatomy to talk about body snatching as though she’s done it herself.
Mother of five kids. Her kids keep “Mum” up to date. And keep her humble by telling her she isn’t funny.
But she is.
