Discover the ancient treasures and archaeology of Britain from Prehistoric stone circles, Roman houses and a Saxon grave fit for a king.

Discover the ancient treasures and archaeology of Britain from Prehistoric stone circles, Roman houses and a Saxon grave fit for a king.

We start our journey in London’s British Museum, the UK’s National Museum of antiquities, archaeology and culture. This museum is well known for its treasures from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. However, it also houses the great treasures of ancient Britain.

We will look through the galleries at these treasures, but as this is a virtual tour, we will then leave the museum and travel around England to discover ancient sites such as Avebury, Stonehenge and Sutton Hoo.

We will travel through time from the Stone Age to AD 43 when the Romans arrived to transform Britain.

We will look at what it was like to be a Roman Britain, starting in Bath and travelling through the Cotswolds to visit the remains of a Roman villa and an amphitheatre.

We then cross to the other side of England to find out what happened after the Romans departed with a ship burial that brought light to the dark ages.
