Ladies, gents, and anyone who’s ever heckled from the back row – welcome to the naughtiest history lesson you’ll ever get standing up. Forget school trips to the Tower of London – this is Soho, darling. Neon-lit, gin-soaked, brazen and utterly barking.

Your guide? Not some tweedy history bore. Oh no. A stand-up comedian. Which means you’ll get punchlines that bite, stories that strut, and the odd gag so wrong you’ll feel the need to go to confession afterwards.

We’ll prowl through the West End into Soho’s crooked little heart – tracing the scandalous birth of the Establishment Club, the Comedy Store, the Comic Strip. Places where British comedy went feral. Respectable theatre crossed the road when it saw them coming.

Expect tales of the bold, the brilliant, and the completely unhinged. Who pinched Freddie Mercury’s birthday cake? Why was David Tennant entangled with a topless bar? And how, for heaven’s sake, did a dingy Soho basement give us alternative comedy that shook Britain sideways?

It’s brash, it’s bawdy, it’s Soho with its knickers showing.

And yes – there will be pubs. Glorious, disreputable, storied pubs. We’re going in. For research, obviously. Purely academic. 🍻
