All the planets are aligned for this one.
- London is the theatre capital of the world.
- Nick Day is one of the finest actors of his generation.
- “Tradition”, as Tevya says in Fiddler on the Roof. Getting a great actor to guide a Theatreland Walk is a London Walks tradition. A London Walks tradition that was started by Edward Petherbridge many years ago.
- Don’t just take it from us – look at the rave reviews!

Fabulous afternoon stroll thru the West End to Leicester Square area. Nick gave us a rare insight into his many years of treading the boards as a professional actor. His mix of humour and sadness combined with the history of the most iconic theatres in the west end left me hanging on his every word. Fantastic and thank you ! If you get the opportunity do not miss out

This is a truly lovely way to spend an afternoon. Whether you have an interest in art, culture, theatre, or simply adore good storytelling, you’ll find something to enjoy. Nick is not only a charismatic guide but also brings a unique and special touch to the tour, having performed in many of the theatres himself. These personal reminiscences and wonderful memories (some brought to life with props no less!) bring these buildings to life in ways that would otherwise be impossible. We were so captivated by the experience that we’re already planning to go again! 🙂

An excellent walk – entertaining and informative. Definitely recommend, and would also be keen to visit other theatrical thoroughfares.

Great fun! A gentle Sunday afternoon stroll around Covent Garden and The Strand being entertained by an actor with lots of stories about the theatres in the area. We heard about a combination of characters from the 1660s to more recent times, with lots of funny anecdotes from Nick’s own career in the theatre. Nick was a great guide and very engaging with his audience, he even brought a few props to show us. Anyone with an interest in theatre, whether historic or modern will love this. I would definitely recommend it.

An interesting theatre walk with a dollop of knowledge and a sprinkle of humour! Fascinating and informative.
We had such an enjoyable Sunday afternoon exploring historic theatres of Covent Garden. Nick is knowledgeable, full of “good ol’ days” stories, and really entertaining too! I highly recommend joining him next time 🙂

What a pleasure. Being guided round the world’s favourite theatre area by someone who has acted in a lot of these establishments. Nick’s anecdotes bring to life a lot of the famous people he has worked with, and also lets us know the history of the buildings themselves. Anyone who has enjoyed London theatre, past and present, will love this walk

This was a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Wandering through Covent Garden and down the Strand, hearing stories about the different theatres and the actors over the past several centuries who brought them to life (including anecdotes from our veteran-actor guide about his own varied, if accident-prone, career). Highly recommended.
