That’d be the Thames Sightseeing, Brunel’s River Cruise tour. Goes at 10.10 am from Embankment [Tube_roundel) Tube, the riverside exit.
It’s a winner every time. But tomorrow, all the planets are aligned – we’re talking a maybe once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It’s the birthday of Horace Jones, the architect who designed Tower Bridge. And as luck would have it the bascules are going to lift nine times! And, yes, our tour starts with that great boat ride (you want more good news, we get you a great reduction on the cost of the boat ride), so we’re pretty sure we’re going to have ringside seats for that famous sight. We’ll be on the river. It’ll feel as though Tower Bridge is opening its arms heavenwards for us!!!!!
Maybe bring your camera?
And on Horace Jones’ birthday! How perfect is that.
And another bonus: Robert’s guiding it. Robert is Mr Mayflower Village himself. He lives locally; he’s extremely well connected; he’s the distinguished retired Curator of the Brunel Museum; he’s a boon companion of the Landlord of The Mayflower, “the oldest pub on the river.”
