Catherine

Catherine is an author and Oxford history graduate who knows an absurd amount about the Great Fire of London, having written a children’s novel about it – The White Phoenix, shortlisted for the Historical Association’s Young Quills Award. She’s experienced at bringing the story of the Great Fire to life without actually burning anything, visiting schools in costume and chatting to children as though it’s just happened. Brought up in Shropshire, but strangely passionate about London, she was delighted to discover her great-great-grandfather was a cheesemonger in the Walworth Road, so now she’s writing a novel around that. Catherine has also written several local history plays and been a guide at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
