Short read: "The champagne & caviar of London Walks." With pubs.
Long read: Does it get any better than that? A place where Old Masters and old money, Rolls Royces and glamour, titles and butlers are par for the course. London's finest townhouse and nightingales thrumming away in the square. It's London's best name-dropping because Mayfair's been home to Admiral Nelson (and his mistress Lady Emma Hamilton), Clive of India, Disraeli, Handel, Florence Nightingale, Peter Sellers, Jimi Hendrix, Dodi Fayed, and the Earl Mountbatten, to name but a few. And the go figure factor? Try this for size. The parallelogram of purses boasts London's best village within a village: Shepherd Market, a charming little nest of alleys that hasn't lost a jot of its 18th-century scale and village atmosphere, let alone its raffishness. N.B. the walk ends near Bond Street Tube.
The Old Mayfair Pub Walk takes place at 7.15 pm on Saturday, June 22. The meeting point is on the corner, outside the North exit of Green ParkTube. The walk ends close to Bond Street and Oxford Street Tube stations.
Want a preview of the walk – and the guiding? Here's the video filmmaker Jon Klein shot of Richard III's daytime Old Mayfair walk, which has lots in common with the Mayfair pub walk.

If you can't make one of the regularly scheduled, just-turn-up, public Old Mayfair Pub Walks do think about booking one as a private tour. If you go private you can have the Old Mayfair Pub Walk – or any other London Walk – on a day and at a time that suits your convenience. We'll tailor it to your requirements. Ring Fiona or Noel or Mary on 020 7624 3978 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll set it up and make it happen for you. A private London Walk – they're good value for an individual or couple and sensational value for a group – makes an ideal group or educational or birthday party or office (team-building) or club outing.
A private London Walk makes a very special (and unusual) gift – be it a birthday or anniversary or Christmas present or whatever. Merchandise schmerchandise (gift wrapped or not) – but giving someone an experience, now that's special. Memories make us rich.
