Guided by Kevin
Home territory for Kevin, this one. It scours the Smithfield to Guildhall quarter, focussing, as per the title, on Mediaeval and Reformation London. Home territory because smack dab in the middle of his hunting ground is the Museum of London, under the auspices of which Kevin did the lion's share of his professional archaeology. Pretty good pedigree for this walk, wouldn't you say! As the New York Times put it, "London Walks puts you into the hands of an expert on the particular area and topic of a tour."
The takeaway point being the takeaway nuggets you'll get. In short, you'll see things that most people don't get see, you'll learn how to "read" that extraordinary chapter of London's history, how it came about, how it coursed through these parts (leaving its mark), how it played itself out.
A change-the-way-you-see-London walk.
The Mediaeval & Reformation London walk takes place at 10.45 am on Saturday, December 30.
The meeting point is just outside the exit of Barbican Tube.

"The original and best – there are several companies offering walking tours of London but London Walks (London's oldest) is easily the pick of the bunch" London, Cadogan Guide
"London's best city tours" The Telegraph
If you can't make one the regularly scheduled, just-turn-up, public Mediaeval & Reformation walk do think about booking one as a private tour. If you go private you can have the Mediaeval & Reformation London – or any other London Walk – on a day and at a time that suits your convenience. We'll tailor it to your requirements. And – always with private London Walks and tours – we go to great lengths to make sure the guide-walker(s) "fit" is well-nigh perfect. Ring Fiona or Noel or Mary on 020 7624 3978 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll set it up and make it happen for you. A private London Walk – they're good value for an individual or couple and sensational value for a group – makes an ideal group or educational or birthday party or office (team-building) or club outing. Or indeed a fab present – be it a birthday or anniversary or get-to-know-your-new neighbourhood gift or Christmas present or whatever. Merchandise schmerchandise (gift wrapped or not) – but giving someone an experience, now that's special. Memories make us rich.
