Halloween Walks
If we're there, they'll come...
And boy are we there. October 31st is all hands on deck as far as ghost busters and attendant ghoulies are concerned.

Which is by way of saying, we'll be running every ghost walk on Halloween night; and every London Walks ghost walk guide is out strutting his or her (and their, i.e., the ghosts!') stuff. That's because London Walks' Halloween ghost walks have become part of the "fabric" of London. Understandably so because they're fun (a lot of the walkers will be in costume, as indeed will many of the guides!) and it is Halloween after all. All of which is by way of saying, the Halloween Ghost Walks are very popular - which is why we put lots of guides on in order to split the hordes up into smaller groups! In marked contrast, I hasten to add, to the 300 or more people who will get the annual cattle herd treatment from a couple of the wannabees.

Best of all, though, on every single one of the bona fide London Walks ghost walks you are guaranteed to see a ghost or two on Halloween! I don't want to push this boat out too far - that would spoil the fun - but but I'm not going to make any bones (the mot juste!) about stressing the fact that UNIQUELY with London Walks you will see a ghost (or two) on Halloween.

Over the years we have had some pretty weird goings-on crop up from time to time on some of our ghost walks. This for example. But ghosts aren't entirely reliable. They don't always want to come out and play. Which is why, incidentally, the calibre of the guiding is so important. This, for example. Not to put too fine a point on it, if the weird won't get going, the guide's got to get the weirdness going! (That was Shaughan, incidentally, who's primis inter pares - the best ghost walk guide in London. And it's not just us saying that.)

And of course, on Halloween, of all nights, the knockoffs and bait-and-switches are out in force. All the amateur hour/not-ready-for-primetime-players - and on ghost walks of all walks, that really doesn't cut it. Bottom line:  there's a zillion ghost walks on offer in London on Halloween - whatever you do, don't buy a pig in a poke.
