THE BEATLES 'IN MY LIFE' WALK
Glenn - Los Angeles April 2007 Will be in London in May and only have time for one of the Beatle tours. Any place I can find out what each of your tours covers so that I can make a choice?
Thanks.
Glenn,
Drop us an email. We'll forward it to Richard P. and he'll get back to you straightaway.
What I can tell you here and now is the Magical Mystery Tour explores the Piccadilly, St. James's and Soho districts in relation to the Fabs. So you get, e.g., McCartney's offices in Soho Square, the place where they played "the rooftop concert", the art gallery where Lennon met Yoko Ono, etc.
The In My Life walk explores the Marylebone district in relation to them. Which translates into, e.g., the picturesque old station that figured in A Hard Days Night, the court where Lennon was busted, the house where Lennon and McCartney wrote I Want to Hold Your Hand, Ringo Starr's flat in Montague Square, etc.
That's what I can tell you here and now. There's a great deal more to those walks, but that's for Richard P. to detail. Only other thing I can tell you is that what they have in common - it's the only feature they share - is that both of them end with that trip up to Abbey Road and the crosswalk and the studio. Oh, and this - for what it's worth, The Magical Mystery Tour came first.
Hope this helps.
But as per what I've said above...if you'd like a fuller "discussion" of what's on each walk drop us a line and Richard P. will get back to you.
Bestest,
David |
