Loved this tour! Even though it was bitterly cold, Peter kept us entertained and informed, and his passion for architecture really comes through and enlivens the tour. We ran off due to the cold at the end pretty quickly, but I wanted to thank Peter again for such an interesting evening!

Great walk! So much to know about such a small area in London. Highly recommended!!!

This was my very first experience with London Walks, and I was not disappointed. Peter G was so knowledgeable about the area and the history it astounded me! While walking, he would walk at a fairly quick pace that was easy for me to keep up with so he would tell me little tidbits that he hadn’t told the rest of the crowd (I’m assuming because of time constraints). Plus, he was really friendly and really into what he was doing which made it that much more interesting to listen to. The variety of pubs within the three we went to was pretty impressive too… a more modern pub, a winery, and of course, Dirty Dicks. It was almost like a travel back in time with each one. It was so cool to see the back streets of London in this walk as well as to learn its intriguing history with Peter G as our guide. Loved it! (and the fact that the Harry Potter tidbit mentioned in the walk summary on their website made me squeal like a little girl when we got there… haha) Highly recommend it if you want to learn about ancient London (the middle centuries in particular) and want a thorough pub experience with an expert guide :) Thanks!

A true gem of an evening, we did this walk as an office jaunt. From the outset Peter G was an eccentric, enthusiastic raconteur who immersed us in London’s fascinating history. We twisted and turned through alleys and streets as the ancient city sprung surprises new and old. A thoroughly recommended evening!

I really enjoyed this walk (Nov. 2003). It met at 6:30 pm which is earlier then most nighttime Walks. It was great walking around Leadenhall Market at sunset. One really gets a feel for Old London. The walk ended right near Liverpool Street station and I was able to stop into the interesting old pub called "Dirty Dick's." The whole tour had a Dickensian feel about it. The guide, Peter G. was fun to chat with as well.
