Leeds Castle & Rochester
As good as it gets! The ripe perfection of the Kentish countryside. Leeds Castle ("standing on its twin islands in the river Len, [it] rises romantically above the reed-fringed waters of its moat-lake." It's a fairy-tale setting: no wonder it's "the loveliest castle in the world". And Rochester: castra, Cantiaci, cathedral, castle, close, cloisters, keep, cockpit (of English history). Let alone ancient England on the Medway and Charles Dickens' old home town.
