THE BEATLES MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR
Lorna Moon - San Diego CA
October 2007
i will be visiting the first part of November. Where can i buy a "2-zone travel card"? if i don't get this card, can i just pay for it, whatever the cost, that is, pay you? I plan to join you for this walk sometime between Nov 01 and Nov 06. thank you. i am an older Asian-american tourist, if you want to look for me.

Hi Lana,

David here. It's usually better to just email us directly - at london@walks.com - with this sort of question. But since you put it up here and I'm here, well, I'll of course answer it. You can get a 2-Zone Travel Card at any London Underground station ("tube stop"). But you can't use them before 9.30 am. That restriction won't of course bear on your connecting up with Richard's Beatles Walk because doesn't start until much later in the morning. I.E., there'll be plenty of time for you to pop along to the tube stop closest to your hotel - go along after 9.30 am - get your Travel Card  and off you go. Needless to say, I'm recommending that you get it prior to that initial tube ride that you'll make to get to the starting point for the Beatles Walk because you'll of course be able to use the Travel Card for that first journey - and then for every tube or bus ride that go on for the rest of the day. Bottom line: it'll save you quite a bit of money if you're planning on making several tube and/or bus journeys.

The other thing you could do - depending on how long you're staying in London and how much you plan to use public transportation - is get an Oyster Card. They're even better value than the 2-Zoner!

Make use of this medium - the internet - i.e., do some Googling (Oyster Card + Transport for London) etc. and you'll find full details about all the offers and "packages" and then you can just go from there. Pick the one that is the best "fit" for you.

Hope this helps. And, hey, if you happen to pitch up on one of the walks that I'm personally guiding - well, please introduce yourself!

Bestest, pip pip and tinkerty tonk,

David
